International Banking has grown in line with the rapid development of Qatar's external trade and investment inflows. We have a strong network of partners and are active participants in structured finance initiatives.
Our support functions
Finance
Our finance team is responsible for producing the Bank's financial accounts and reports and for supporting the business areas with the financial insights on how they are performing. In addition, we have a number of specialist teams: Investor relations, treasury and our chief economist office.
Risk
The independent risk team provides effective oversight for the Bank with early warnings for risk-related issues. They also help to deliver sustainable growth as well as minimise loss within the Bank's risk appetite. Through our legal team we additionally provide legal advice and support to our customer-facing businesses.
Audit
Audit experts provide objective assurance to the Board and the Executive Committee on the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.
Operations
The operations team is the backbone of the Bank and incorporates IT, security and property services. From managing the flow of payments for customers to managing the Bank’s premises and running complex IT networks, the operations team deliver excellence every day.
Organisational effectiveness
The organisational effectiveness team are involved in a range of initiatives, including performance management, talent development and training. The team also supports the Bank’s Qatarisation strategy.
Marketing
The marketing team has responsibility for developing our customer and brand experiences.
