How to add a card

 

 From CBQ Mobile App

 

1. Login to your CBQ Mobile App.
2. Click “Continue” on Apple Pay banner or to add more cards select icon from "Services" menu.
3. Choose the card you want to add to Apple Pay.


4. Click on the “Add to Apple Wallet” icon and follow the registration steps.


5. You have successfully added your card to the Apple Pay Wallet.

 

 From Apple Pay Wallet app

 

Adding your card to Apple Pay is simple. Here’s how to get started: 


1. On iPhone, open the Wallet app and tap the “+” sign.
2. For Apple Watch, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and select “Wallet & Apple Pay”, then tap “Add Credit or Debit Card”. 
3. On iPad, go to Settings, open “Wallet & Apple Pay”, and select “Add Credit or Debit Card”. 
4. On MacBook Pro with Touch ID, go to System Preferences, select “Wallet & Apple Pay”, then select “Add Card”.

Apple Pay is an easier, safer way to pay in stores, in apps, and on the web with your iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac. You can quickly check out using the devices you carry every day. Apple Pay is also a safer and faster way to pay online and in apps because you no longer have to create an account or fill out lengthy forms.

Apple Pay is a mobile payment and digital wallet service by Apple Inc. which allows you to use a compatible Apple devices (iPhone, Apple Watch or iPad) to make secure in-store, in-app and e-Commerce purchases anywhere Apple Pay is accepted using your CB Debit and Credit cards.

Apple Pay uses “Near Field Communication - NFC” technology to conduct contactless payments with your Apple device at POS terminals. The technology enables devices in close proximity to communicate and transmit tokenized payment card information from your phone to a contactless payment terminal without sending your actual card information and without any direct physical contact.

When using Apple Pay for In-App / e- Commerce purchases, Apple Pay uses “Tokenization” technology to hide all details of your card from being shared with the merchant online, only a one time encrypted token will be used to authorize your transaction online.

You can set-up your CB Visa / Mastercard Debit and Credit card for Apple Pay using any of the following ways:

 

Through CBQ Mobile App

 

  • Log in to your CBQ Mobile App on your Apple device
  • Click on “Set Up Apple Pay” under “Services”
  • Choose the CB Visa / Mastercard Debit and Credit card you want to add to Apple Pay
  • Click on the “Add to Apple Wallet” icon
  • You will be redirected to Apple Pay Wallet to follow the registration steps.
  • You have successfully added your card to the Apple Pay wallet.

 

Through Apple Pay Wallet using

 

a) iPhone

 

  • Click (+) on Apple Wallet App to add your preferred CB Visa / Mastercard Debit and Credit card
  • You can either scan your card using your camera or choose to enter card details manually
  • Enter the required fields to complete the registration process and read and accept the Terms & Conditions
  • A confirmation SMS containing OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number
  • Once OTP is entered, the card will be added to the wallet and a SMS message will be sent to confirm that your card was added successfully

b)  iPad

 

Go to Settings

  • Tap Wallet & Apple Pay and select Add Credit or Debit Card
  • Enter your card’s security code to add your CB Visa / Mastercard Debit and Credit card from your iTunes account. Or, select

Add a different card and use your camera to enter the card information.

 

c) Apple Watch

 

  • You can add CB Visa  / Mastercard Debit  and Credit card to your Apple Watch at the time of adding your card to Apple Pay Wallet.
  • Alternatively, you can add it later from Apple Watch App.
  1. 1- Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone
  2. 2- Tap Wallet & Apple Pay and select Add a Credit or Debit Card

You can use Apple Pay for in-store purchases wherever contactless payments are accepted or you see the contactless payment or Apple Pay Logo and in any e-Commerce site or In-App payment supporting Apple Pay.

  • To pay with Face ID – double click the side button, glance at your screen, then hold the iPhone near the reader.
  • To pay with Touch ID – hold your iPhone near the reader and rest your finger on Touch ID.
  • To pay with device passcode – hold your iPhone near the reader and enter your device passcode

With an Apple Watch you double-click the side button and hold the display up to the contactless reader to authorise a payment – whilst wearing the Apple Watch.

Please note: the Apple Watch NFC feature has to be activated before Apple Pay will work. When you strap your Apple Watch

to your wrist you will be prompted to enter the device passcode. This will enable Apple Pay. If the Apple Watch is removed from your wrist, so skin contact is lost, Wrist Detect detects that skin contact has been lost and Apple Pay and the NFC feature are deactivated.

 

To pay in selected apps and on the web in Safari on your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, select Apple Pay at the check-out and complete the payment.

With Face ID glance at your screen, for Touch ID place your finger on Touch ID or you can enter the device passcode. For Apple Watch double-click on the side button.

Be sure to check your billing, shipping and contact information to make sure that they’re correct. If you want to pay with a different card, tap > next to your card.

If you need to, enter your billing, shipping and contact information. Apple pay will store that information, so you won’t need to enter it again.

To pay on the web in Safari on your Mac, select Apple Pay and complete the payment using either your iPhone or Apple Watch. On Mac models with Touch ID, pay using Touch ID.

Your Mac needs to be signed in to the same iCloud account as the iPhone or Apple Watch and have Bluetooth enabled on your Mac.

At the check out

  1. Select the Buy with Apple Pay or Apple Pay button.
  2. Check your billing, shipping and contact information are correct:

    The default card can be changed by clicking the  button next to the default card and selecting a new CB Visa / Mastercard Debit or Credit card from any iPhone or Apple Watch which is nearby and signed into the same iCloud account.

    If you need to, enter your billing, shipping and contact information. Apple Pay will store that information on your iPhone, so you won’t need to enter it again.
     
  3. When you are ready, make your purchase. With Face ID glance at your screen, for Touch ID place your finger on Touch ID or you can enter the device passcode. For Apple Watch double-click on the side button.

You do not need to download any additional app to use Apple Pay but the latest version of iOS and watchOS is required to set up cards in Apple Pay.

Apple Pay works with:

All Visa and Mastercard – CB Credit and CB Debit cards issued for retail customers are available for Apple Pay.

Yes, but it depends on the device model as to how many cards can be added to Apple Pay. On newer devices, such as the iPhone X, you can add up to 12 cards, earlier models will allow you to add up to eight cards. The first card added to the device will become the default card, but this can be changed.

In up to 9 Apple Pay devices, you can provision the same card

No additional charge is applied when using Apple Pay. The usual credit or debit charges apply to purchases and some retailers may apply a Debit or Credit card surcharge to purchases made using any payment method, contactless or chip and PIN transactions.

Apple Pay requires an active data plan or Wi-fi connection to add your card to Apple Pay. Based upon your mobile plan and network, additional message and/or data charges may apply

No, you will only need to authenticate the transactions using your biometric data.

Apple Pay will work in all countries where contactless payments are accepted. We recommend you take your plastic card as a backup, as not all merchants in all countries may support contactless payments.

You can pay within the available limit on you Debit card and Credit card

No PIN is required for any amount. Verification if done for any transaction amount, using the Face ID, Touch ID.

Yes, you will be able to view the last 10 transactions made using Apple Pay on that device within the Wallet app.

Transactions will appear as they normally do on a Bank or Credit card statement. It is not possible to show if a transaction was made using Apple Pay, contactless card or chip and PIN.

Yes, you will get notifications for both declined and successful transactions

Yes, the user will see a tick mark with the 'Done' message on the iPhone regardless of whether the transaction is successful or declined

The first card added to the Wallet app becomes the default card for that device. To change a default card you must follow these steps:

  1. iPhone

 

  •   Open the Wallet app
  •   Touch and hold your finger over the card you want to make the default card
  •   Drag the card to the front of the cards in the Apple Pay section

 

 

  1. Apple Watch

 

  •   Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone
  •   Go to the My Watch tab
  •   Tap Wallet & Apple Pay and then Default Card
  •   Choose a new card

 

  1. iPad

 

  • Go to Settings
  • Tap Wallet & Apple Pay and then Default Card
  • Choose a new card

To remove a card from Apple Pay you must follow these steps:

  1. iPhone
  • Open the Wallet app
  • Select the relevant card and then tap () symbol to see all the card details
  • Scroll down and select Remove Card

 

  1. Apple Watch
  •    Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone
  •    Go to the My Watch tab
  •    Tap Wallet & Apple Pay and then Default Card
  •    Tap the card and then tap Remove Card

 

  1. iPad
  •  Go to Settings
  •  Tap Wallet & Apple Pay and then Remove Card
  •  Choose the card to be removed from Apple Pay

Please note: if you remove your device passcode or Touch ID/Face ID security feature, or sign out of iCloud, all cards will be removed from Apple Pay on the device.

Card(s) will be removed from Apple Watch if it is unpaired

Card is closed and hence cannot be used.

Call our Contact Centre on +974 44490000 to block the card and you should also remove the lost or stolen card from the Apple Pay Wallet by accessing Apple Wallet settings and deactivating it from there.

If you have the Find My iPhone app you can use it to remotely lock the device and disable the use of the Apple Pay function Or you can log into iCloud.com to suspend or remove all cards from Apple Pay remotely. If you do not have the app you should contact our Contact Centre on +974 44490000 to get your card(s) disabled / deleted for use with Apple Pay.

No, you cannot resume deleted cards. Only suspended cards can be resumed

Yes, you can add the card for Apple Pay as long as the card is active

Apple Pay is very secure. You’re protected through your Apple device’s security settings (i.e. Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode) on every transaction.
