Commercial Bank hosts interactive SME workshop about strength based teams

26 May 2014
Doha, Qatar: Enterprise Banking, Commercial Bank’s dedicated unit for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), recently hosted the latest in a series of tailored workshops at the Commercial Bank Academy.
Commercial Bank supports the growth and success of SMEs in Qatar by providing value added services and tailored solutions through its Enterprise Banking unit, including hosting workshops on topics relevant to SMEs’ specific business needs. Titled: “Capitalising on the strengths of your team,” the interactive workshop introduced participants to the concept of leading ‘strength based’ teams and running ‘strength based’ companies.
The workshop was conducted by Jaywant Michael, Executive Director, Centre for Banking and Financial Studies, College of the North Atlantic Qatar (CNA-Q). He said, “SMEs usually are able to react faster to changes in the marketplace. Every employee is critical to the success of a business. Ensuring your SME team is playing to its strengths is critical when you do not have the luxury of a large team as bigger organisations do. ” The workshop explored ways in which individuals can discover what they do well and use their strengths to overcome challenges.
Kenneth Clark, Head of Enterprise Banking, Commercial Bank, said “Commercial Bank enables our customers to access people and organisations, such as CNA-Q, who can help their businesses. This is especially true for SMEs who may not have the resources to do this for themselves. We encourage our customers to think of Commercial Bank as part of their team, not only for their banking requirements, but also for advice and assistance on their future plans.”
Gail Gosse, Dean of the School of Business Studies at CNA-Q welcomed the workshop’s participants and shared the variety of facilities available to SMEs at CNA-Q. Ms. Gosse commended the value-added efforts of Commercial Bank and the wide range of financial services it offers to support the Bank’s SME customers in all their requirements through its dedicated Enterprise Banking business unit.
Commercial Bank’s regular SME workshops provide a platform for Enterprise Banking customers to meet and discuss with their peers on various matters and generate new ideas to benefit their businesses. Commercial Bank is committed to comply with Qatar’s National Vision 2030, which emphasises supporting the growth of SMEs as a key constituent of the country’s economic future and diversification.
