Doha Golf Club hosts the 25th Anniversary of the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.
The Doha Golf Club will be on the DP World Tour Calendar when it hosts the 25th edition of the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters in 2022 from March 24th to March 27th. Designed by Peter Harradine, the exciting venue expects to not only challenge the DP World Tour Stars with its length but to also entertain local and international spectators with its unique views of the Lusail, the Pearl and the Doha Skyline.
The highly anticipated event has been announced at a press conference held at The Qatar Golf Association premises, and is organized by The Qatar Golf Association (QGA), the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), Doha Golf Club and long-term Title Sponsor, Commercial Bank. The tournament is considered Qatar's annual 'must-attend' sporting and social event, first held in 1998 and widely known for bringing together the world's best golf talent; the likes of Sergio Garcia, Rory Mcllroy, Adam Scott, Justin Rose, Ernie Els and Henrik Stenson have all competed in past years.
Commercial Bank's GCEO, Joseph Abraham stated: “We are honored to sponsor the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters tournament for seventeen consecutive years. Qatar's ambition is to become a global leader in sports and bring the world together through sustainable sports development and Commercial Bank through its sponsorship of the Qatar Masters helps in driving this ambition forward."
Commercial Bank Sponsorships and Events Manager, Ashjan Al-Khalaf said: “The will of our State and its wise leadership inspire us and give us the necessary determination and strength to organize and sponsor such world-class events as the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, which raise the name of Qatar and praise its prominent and strategic role not only in the business and economic scene, but also on the sports field, as it is the most prestigious and appropriate destination for organizing the largest and most well-known sports events. We certainly look forward to widening the platform of our cooperation with Qatar Golf Association, the Olympic Committee, and the Doha Golf Club through supporting more activities in the future."
The Commercial Bank Qatar Masters has been attended by thousands of spectators in 2021 and broadcast to a global TV audience of over 500 million viewers. For the 25th Edition of the event, all eyes will be on Doha as the biggest names in the sport vie for the Mother of Pearl Trophy on one of the newest golf courses on the Tour.
